VSO Accenture Everest Base Camp 2010

Everest

Wednesday February 24th - Friday 12th March
for Accenture, family and friends

For the first time an Accenture trek is open to employees family and friends, so sign up and you could invite 1 non-Accenture employee to share the adventure with you.

Welcome to Accenture's Everest Base Camp trek in support of VSO's education programmes in 21 of the world's poorest countries. This once in a lifetime trek is non technical (no prior experience is required) and will be open to all Accenture employees, regardless of geography, workforce and level.

The experience is enhanced by a rare opportunity to visit a VSO project and witness first hand the type of incredible projects your fundraising will support.

If you would like to be among those trekking among the majestic peaks to expedition base camp and on to Kala Pattar reaching 5545m above sea level, and also to have the opportunity to visit a VSO project in Kathmandu sign up now.

Read one intrepid Accenture explorer’s account of his time in the Nepalese Himalayas.

With a total of 14 days trekking this is not a challenge for the fainthearted, but it is an achievable and enjoyable one. Here are some of the reasons why:

  • Anyone willing to train can participate: you don't need any prior experience as it is a non-technical trek
  • The treks operate on a sliding scale basis so that the more money you raise, the lower your individual costs are (you could go for as little as the cost of your flights!)
  • You can easily extend your trip out there and spend more time in the area to explore independently.
